This position is a contract role for 90 days. October 1st-Dec 31st.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

The role of the IT DMS Applications Manager is to assist the Director in the support and management of Asbury’s Dealer Management System (DMS) and all related/integrated application suites. Job tasks include review of major application release documentation, coordination of testing within Information Technology (IT), the Shared Services Center (SSC) teams and stores. Communicating security concerns regarding the releases to the IT Security Manager and communicating to all departments and stores so that they are informed of any changes to the application suites. The setup, maintenance and training for the DMS applications, integrated applications and store application suites. 

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with Dealer Management Systems and related/integrated products
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Report Generator and Automotive application file structure
  • An understanding of Windows based client/server applications is preferred.
  • PPM Certification or equivalent Project Management experience

Position Responsibilities

  • Overall management and support of the DMS applications and related product suites by working with vendors to understand the upgrades and coordinating among various teams for testing, support and implementation.
  • Assist with application conversions, performing setups and confirming configurations.
  • Assist other departments with an understanding of the application set file structure.
  • Assist with cleanup/maintenance of the DMS (i.e. purging of files like Purchase Orders, obsolete Reports, data integrity)
  • Assist with QA verification for projects that involve the DMS and related application suites.
  • Manages projects/process improvement, including applying change management experience to facilitate movement to new levels of quality.
  • Conducts training, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains clients on new processes/functionality. Trains new system users.

Education and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience working with DMS application support and implementation
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office.
  • An understanding of Windows based client/server applications is preferred.
  • An understanding of Virtual Machine technology is preferred.
