The Dealership Accounting Manager plays an integral role in overseeing the on-site accounting team that supports our dealerships and guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.  The ideal candidate will reside in the Raleigh/Durham area (or be open to relocation) with previous automotive experience.

Responsibilities and Qualifications


  • Interact daily with dealership managers to resolve issues between the shared processing center and dealership managers
  • Conduct routine reviews of operating reports per Asbury requirements
  • Assist dealership personnel with general human resources questions
  • Hire, train, and counsel the compliance administrator
  • Supervise compliance administrator, assist with deal flow, and resolve problem deals and CIT issues
  • Work with the title service provider to resolve documentation issues
  • Attend manager meetings regarding dealership operations, deal flow, and CIT
  • Insure dealership managers comply with Asbury policies and procedures and report any deviation from these policies to the Market Controller


  • Minimum of 3 years accounting/office manager experience
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and investigative research skills required
  • Advanced computer skills; competence in ADP and other finance applications preferred
  • Able to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff and vendors
  • Must be process, analytical and detailed-oriented
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings (background and drug test)
